Spain is an appealing destination for Azerbaijani travelers due to its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. As the third most visited country globally, it offers a rich historical heritage and natural beauty that can attract a portion of the 1 million Azerbaijanis who travel abroad annually.
Spain is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Azerbaijan. It ranks 22nd among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night and is 23rd out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, indicating a relatively high level of safety compared to Azerbaijan, which ranks 104th. In terms of crime rates, Spain has a lower murder rate of 0.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Azerbaijan's 1.9. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that while both countries face challenges, Spain generally has a lower risk in several categories, such as state crime and resource crime. Overall, tourists from Azerbaijan can feel secure while visiting Spain, but standard travel precautions should always be taken.
