Dominica, known as the "Nature Island of the Caribbean," features stunning rainforests and beautiful beaches, making it an appealing destination for some Moroccan travelers. While it is less frequented compared to other Caribbean locations, the island could attract a portion of the 600,000 Moroccans who travel abroad annually.
Dominica is generally considered safe for tourists, but there are some important factors to consider. The murder rate in Dominica is significantly higher than in Morocco, with 13.8 per 100,000 people compared to Morocco's 1.9. Additionally, female murder rates are also higher in Dominica (5.5) than in Morocco (0.5). However, when looking at organized crime, both countries have a score of 1.0 for mafia groups, indicating a low presence of organized crime. Dominica scores better in state crime (1.5) and human trafficking/smuggling (2.5) compared to Morocco, which has higher scores in these areas. Overall, while Dominica has some crime concerns, particularly regarding violent crime, it also has strengths in organized crime indices. Tourists should remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings, as they would in any destination.
