Germany offers a compelling mix of cultural heritage, modern amenities, and diverse attractions, making it a significant destination for travelers. With historical landmarks like the Berlin Wall and Neuschwanstein Castle, it attracts millions of visitors annually. This appeal may resonate with a segment of the approximately one million Cape Verdeans, making it an interesting option for some.
Germany is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Cabo Verde. It ranks 20th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, indicating a relatively high level of safety. However, it is ranked 29th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. In terms of crime statistics, Germany has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 people compared to Cabo Verde's 6.5. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that while both countries face challenges, Germany has a more favorable standing in terms of state crime and organized crime activities. Overall, while there are some safety concerns, Germany remains a safe destination for tourists.
