Cyprus is an appealing destination for some Tunisian travelers due to its rich cultural heritage and strategic location in the Mediterranean. With around 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Cyprus an attractive option for their travels.
Cyprus is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Tunisia. It ranks 11th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. However, according to the Global Peace Index, it is ranked 86th out of 160 countries, which is lower than Tunisia's ranking of 72nd. In terms of crime statistics, Cyprus has a murder rate of 1.3 per 100,000 people, significantly lower than Tunisia's rate of 4.8. Additionally, organized crime indices show that Cyprus has some challenges, particularly in areas like foreign crime and human trafficking, but overall, it remains a safer destination compared to Tunisia in terms of violent crime. While both countries have their safety concerns, tourists from Tunisia can generally feel secure while visiting Cyprus.
