Cyprus is an appealing destination for some travelers from Nepal, given its rich cultural heritage and strategic location in the Mediterranean. With 1.2 million Nepalese traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Cyprus an interesting option for their travels.
Cyprus is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Nepal. It ranks 11th among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night. Although the Global Peace Index places Cyprus at 86th out of 160 countries, it is still perceived as a safe destination. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Cyprus is lower at 1.3 per 100,000 people compared to Nepal's 2.1. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that Cyprus has a more favorable standing in areas like mafia presence and arms trafficking. Overall, while both countries have their own safety concerns, Cyprus is regarded as a safe place for tourists.
