Cuba offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Saudi travelers. Despite recent challenges, its colonial architecture, vibrant salsa music, and beautiful beaches attract visitors. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Cuba an intriguing option.
Cuba is relatively safe for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Cuba ranks 96th out of 160 countries, while Saudi Arabia ranks 100th, indicating similar safety levels. In terms of crime statistics, Cuba has a higher murder rate of 5.0 per 100,000 people compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. However, organized crime indices suggest that Cuba has lower scores in certain areas, such as crime networks (Cuba 2.5 vs. Saudi Arabia 6.5) and arms trafficking (Cuba 1.5 vs. Saudi Arabia 8.0), indicating a relatively lower presence of organized crime in Cuba. Overall, while tourists should remain vigilant, Cuba is considered a safe destination for visitors from Saudi Arabia.
