Cuba offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Brazilian travelers. With 10.6 million Brazilians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Cuba's colonial architecture, vibrant salsa music, and beautiful beaches particularly enticing, despite recent challenges in its tourism sector.
Cuba is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Brazil. According to the Global Peace Index, Cuba ranks 96th out of 160 countries, while Brazil is ranked 129th. The murder rate in Cuba is significantly lower at 5.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Brazil's 22.5. In terms of organized crime, Cuba has lower indices across various categories. For example, mafia groups score 4.0 in Cuba versus 7.5 in Brazil, and crime networks score 2.5 in Cuba compared to 6.5 in Brazil. Additionally, Cuba has a much lower score for arms trafficking (1.5) compared to Brazil (8.0). Overall, while no destination is without risks, Cuba presents a safer environment for tourists from Brazil based on these statistics.
