Colombia presents certain safety concerns for tourists, particularly when compared to the Philippines. According to the Global Peace Index, Colombia ranks 143rd out of 160 countries, while the Philippines is ranked 102nd. In terms of crime statistics, Colombia has a significantly higher murder rate at 27.5 per 100,000 people, compared to the Philippines' 4.4.
