China offers a blend of modern infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and diverse natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Yemen's 33 million residents. Despite varying trends in tourist arrivals, China remains a significant player in global tourism.
China is generally safer for tourists compared to Yemen. According to the Global Peace Index, China ranks 87th out of 160 countries, while Yemen ranks last at 160th. The murder rate in China is significantly lower, at 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Yemen's 6.8. In terms of organized crime, various indices indicate that while both countries face challenges, Yemen scores worse in several categories. For example, Yemen has higher scores in mafia groups (8.0) and human trafficking (8.5), while China scores lower in these areas (7.0 and 6.5, respectively). Additionally, China has a much lower score for arms trafficking (2.5) compared to Yemen (9.0). Overall, tourists from Yemen can expect a safer environment in China based on these statistics.
