China offers a compelling mix of modern infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and diverse natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Jordanian travelers. With around 800,000 Jordanians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find China an interesting option for their travels.
China is generally considered safe for tourists, but it has a lower safety ranking compared to Jordan. According to the Global Peace Index, China ranks 87th out of 160 countries, while Jordan ranks 65th. In terms of murder rates, Jordan has a rate of 1.0 per 100,000 people, whereas China's rate is lower at 0.5. Regarding organized crime, Jordan performs better in several categories. For instance, mafia groups and crime networks in Jordan have lower indices (1.5 and 7.0, respectively) compared to China (7.0 and 7.5). However, both countries face challenges with human trafficking and smuggling, with similar indices of 6.5. Overall, while China is relatively safe, tourists from Jordan may find it less secure than their home country.
