Switzerland offers a compelling appeal for visitors from Qatar, featuring breathtaking alpine landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and exceptional hospitality. It attracts millions of tourists each year, catering to diverse interests such as winter sports and luxury getaways. This makes it an intriguing destination for a segment of Qatar's 3 million population.
Switzerland is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Qatar. It ranks 6th in the Global Peace Index out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In terms of walking alone at night, Switzerland ranks 7th among 40 European countries, although specific data for Qatar is not available. When comparing murder rates, Qatar has a lower rate (0.3 per 100,000 people) than Switzerland (0.5). However, various organized crime indices suggest that while Qatar scores better in some areas, Switzerland has lower scores in state crime and certain types of trafficking, indicating a more stable environment in those aspects. Overall, Switzerland is generally regarded as safer than Qatar based on these statistics, making it a favorable destination for tourists.
