Switzerland offers breathtaking alpine scenery, rich culture, and exceptional hospitality, making it an appealing destination for some Bhutanese travelers. With its diverse attractions, including winter sports and luxury experiences, it could attract a segment of Bhutan's one million population.
Switzerland is considered very safe for tourists, including those from Bhutan. It ranks 6th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, indicating a high level of safety. In comparison, Bhutan ranks 21st. When it comes to crime statistics, Switzerland has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Bhutan's 2.5. Additionally, the safety of walking alone at night places Switzerland 7th among 40 European countries, though specific data for Bhutan is not available. While both countries face organized crime challenges, Switzerland generally has a more favorable index in several categories, particularly in state crime and flora crime. Overall, tourists from Bhutan can feel secure while visiting Switzerland.
