Switzerland offers breathtaking alpine scenery, rich culture, and exceptional hospitality, making it an appealing destination for some Bahamians. The country attracts millions of tourists each year for activities ranging from winter sports to luxury experiences.
Switzerland is generally considered a very safe destination for tourists, including those from the Bahamas. It ranks 7th among 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night and 6th globally according to the Global Peace Index. In contrast, the Bahamas has a significantly higher murder rate of 29.2 per 100,000 people, compared to Switzerland's 0.5. Additionally, crime indices indicate that organized crime and trafficking are more prevalent in the Bahamas than in Switzerland. For instance, the Bahamas scores lower on various crime indices, indicating a higher risk in categories such as mafia presence and drug trade. Overall, tourists from the Bahamas can feel secure while visiting Switzerland.
