Canada offers a rich blend of cultural charm and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for international travelers. Although there has been a recent dip in tourist arrivals, it still attracts millions annually. With 1.2 million Nepalese traveling abroad each year, a portion of them may find Canada to be an intriguing option for their travels.
Canada is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Nepal. According to the Global Peace Index, Canada ranks 11th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to Nepal, which ranks 78th. In terms of crime statistics, both countries have a similar murder rate of 2.1 per 100,000 people. However, Canada has a lower rate of female murders at 1.0 per 100,000. The Global Organized Crime Index provides further insights, with Canada scoring better in several categories related to organized crime. For example, Canada has lower indices for state crime (2.0 compared to Nepal's 8.5) and human trafficking (3.5 compared to Nepal's 7.0). Overall, while no place is completely free of crime, Canada offers a safer environment for tourists compared to Nepal.
