Canada offers a rich blend of cultural diversity and stunning natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some of Myanmar's 54 million Bamar people. Although there has been a recent decrease in tourist arrivals, Canada still attracts millions of international visitors annually.
Canada is considered one of the safest countries for tourists, ranking 11th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Myanmar, which ranks 145th. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Canada has a murder rate of 2.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Myanmar's rate of 28.4. Additionally, various crime indices indicate that Canada generally has lower organized crime rates, with indices for mafia groups (Canada 5.0 vs. Myanmar 9.0) and human trafficking (Canada 3.5 vs. Myanmar 6.5) reflecting this trend. Overall, tourists from Myanmar can feel relatively safe when visiting Canada.
