Canada offers a rich blend of cultural and natural attractions, making it an appealing destination for many international travelers. Although tourist arrivals have recently declined, its charm still attracts millions annually. A segment of Afghanistan's population, estimated at 40 million, may find Canada particularly appealing for its diverse experiences.
Canada is considered a very safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Afghanistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Canada ranks 11th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Afghanistan, which ranks 157th. In terms of crime statistics, Canada has a murder rate of 2.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Afghanistan's 4.0. Additionally, Canada has lower rates of female murders (1.0 in Canada versus 1.3 in Afghanistan). The Global Organized Crime Index further illustrates the safety difference, with Canada scoring better across various crime categories. For example, Canada has a mafia group index of 5.0 compared to Afghanistan's 7.5, and a state crime index of 2.0 versus Afghanistan's 9.0. Overall, these statistics indicate that Canada offers a safer environment for tourists compared to Afghanistan.
