Belize offers a unique appeal for Cuban visitors, showcasing its tropical beauty and rich cultural experiences. While it attracts a modest number of foreign tourists annually, it stands out as a destination for those interested in nature and culture. With around 300,000 Cubans traveling abroad each year, a portion may find Belize to be an enticing option.
Belize presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those coming from Cuba. While Cuba has a murder rate of 5.0 per 100,000 people, Belize's rate is significantly higher at 31.2. Additionally, crime statistics indicate that Belize faces challenges with organized crime, reflected in its higher indices compared to Cuba in areas such as mafia groups (6.5 vs. 4.0) and foreign crime (5.0 vs. 1.0). Overall, while many tourists visit Belize without incident, it is advisable for travelers to remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings.
