Belarus offers a mix of cultural and natural attractions that could appeal to some of Serbia's 7 million residents. Its unique landscapes and historical sites present a blend of traditional charm and modern tourism appeal, making it an intriguing option for certain Serbian travelers.
Belarus presents some safety concerns for tourists from Serbia. It ranks 38th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, significantly lower than Serbia, which ranks 13th. The Global Peace Index places Belarus at 110th out of 160 countries, compared to Serbia's 53rd position. In terms of crime statistics, Belarus has a higher murder rate at 2.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Serbia's 1.1. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Belarus at 1.7 and Serbia at 0.7. Regarding organized crime, Belarus has lower scores in several categories compared to Serbia, indicating a higher level of state crime and human trafficking issues. For instance, Belarus scores 9.0 for state crime, while Serbia scores 8.0. Overall, while Belarus has its attractions, tourists from Serbia should be cautious and aware of the safety differences when visiting.
