Belarus offers a unique blend of cultural and natural attractions that could appeal to some travelers from the Dominican Republic. With around 600,000 Dominicans traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Belarus an intriguing destination worth exploring.
Belarus presents certain safety considerations for tourists from the Dominican Republic. In terms of walking alone at night, Belarus ranks 38th out of 40 European countries, indicating it may not be the safest option. According to the Global Peace Index, Belarus is ranked 110th out of 160 countries, while the Dominican Republic is ranked 95th, suggesting that the Dominican Republic is relatively safer. When examining murder rates, Belarus has a significantly lower rate at 2.4 per 100,000 people compared to the Dominican Republic's 10.5. However, crime indices from the Global Organized Crime Index show that while Belarus has lower scores in some areas, it scores worse in state crime (9.0) compared to the Dominican Republic (5.5). Overall, while Belarus has lower murder rates, the overall safety ranking and certain crime indices indicate that tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about their surroundings when visiting.
