Belarus offers a blend of cultural and natural attractions that may appeal to some Czech travelers. With 1.2 million Czechs traveling abroad annually, a portion could find interest in exploring this unique destination.
Belarus presents certain safety concerns for tourists from Czechia. In terms of safety rankings, Belarus is 38th out of 40 countries for safety while walking alone at night, significantly lower than Czechia, which ranks 5th. The Global Peace Index also reflects this disparity, with Belarus ranked 110th out of 160 countries compared to Czechia's 12th position. Crime statistics further illustrate the differences: the murder rate in Belarus is 2.4 per 100,000 people, compared to just 0.4 in Czechia. Female murder rates are also higher in Belarus (1.7) than in Czechia (0.5). Regarding organized crime, Belarus scores higher on several indices, indicating greater concerns in areas like state crime (9.0 for Belarus vs. 5.5 for Czechia) and human trafficking (7.0 vs. 5.0). Overall, while Belarus has its attractions, tourists from Czechia should be aware of the heightened safety risks compared to their home country.
