Brazil offers a rich array of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Zambia's 20 million residents. Its well-developed tourism infrastructure supports a variety of attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, which could attract a segment of Zambian travelers.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, particularly when compared to Zambia. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil is ranked 129th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower level of safety than Zambia, which ranks 55th. In terms of crime statistics, Brazil has a significantly higher murder rate, with 22.5 murders per 100,000 people, compared to Zambia's 5.4. Additionally, Brazil faces challenges with organized crime, reflected in various indices where Brazil scores worse than Zambia in categories such as mafia presence (7.5 vs. 3.0) and state crime (8.5 vs. 6.0). While Brazil is a popular tourist destination, visitors should remain vigilant and informed about local safety conditions.
