Brazil offers a rich blend of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for Turkish travelers. With a well-developed tourism infrastructure, it features diverse attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest. Among the 2.7 million Turks who travel abroad annually, a segment may find Brazil particularly interesting to explore.
Brazil presents a mixed safety profile for tourists from Türkiye. While Brazil is ranked 129th out of 160 countries in the Global Peace Index, it is considered slightly safer than Türkiye, which ranks 137th. However, Brazil has a significantly higher murder rate at 22.5 per 100,000 people compared to Türkiye's 2.5. In terms of organized crime, Brazil scores better in some areas, such as foreign crime and the heroin trade, but has higher risks in others, like cocaine and cannabis trade. Overall, while Brazil may offer rich cultural experiences, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about safety, particularly in certain regions.
