Brazil offers a rich array of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Senegalese travelers. Its well-developed tourism infrastructure supports a variety of attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, which could attract a segment of Senegal's 17 million population.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, particularly when compared to Senegal. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, while Senegal is significantly safer at 82nd. The murder rate in Brazil is notably higher at 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Senegal's low rate of 0.3. Additionally, crime statistics from the Global Organized Crime Index indicate that Brazil faces challenges with organized crime, scoring worse in several categories such as mafia groups (Brazil 7.5 vs. Senegal 2.5) and state crime (Brazil 8.5 vs. Senegal 4.5). While Brazil has much to offer tourists, it is important for visitors from Senegal to remain aware of their surroundings and take precautions to ensure their safety.
