Brazil offers a rich cultural experience and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Saudi visitors. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Brazil's diverse attractions, including its famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, particularly enticing.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Saudi Arabia. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Saudi Arabia, which is ranked 100th. The murder rate in Brazil is significantly higher, at 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's rate of 0.8. Additionally, the rates of female murders are 3.5 in Brazil versus 0.3 in Saudi Arabia. In terms of organized crime, Brazil scores worse on several indices. For instance, mafia groups are rated at 7.5 in Brazil, compared to 3.0 in Saudi Arabia. Both countries have similar scores for crime networks (6.5), but Brazil faces higher challenges in state crime (8.5) and drug-related issues, such as cocaine trade (9.0) and cannabis trade (8.0). Overall, while Brazil offers rich cultural experiences, tourists should remain aware of safety issues and exercise caution during their visit.
