Brazil offers a rich blend of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Qatar's 3 million residents. Its well-developed tourism infrastructure supports a variety of attractions, from famous beaches to the Amazon rainforest, catering to diverse interests.
Brazil's safety for tourists, particularly those coming from Qatar, is a concern based on various safety indices. The Global Peace Index ranks Brazil 129th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Qatar, which is ranked 29th. In terms of crime statistics, Brazil has a murder rate of 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's 0.3. Female murder rates also reflect this disparity, with Brazil at 3.5 and Qatar at 0.5. The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights the differences, with Brazil scoring poorly in several categories: mafia groups (7.5), crime networks (6.5), and state crime (8.5), while Qatar scores much better (1.0, 6.0, and 6.0 respectively). Overall, while Brazil offers rich cultural experiences, tourists should be aware of the higher crime rates and take necessary precautions.
