Brazil offers a rich blend of vibrant culture and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for South Korean travelers. With a well-developed tourism infrastructure that includes iconic beaches and the Amazon rainforest, it has the potential to attract a segment of the 4.3 million Koreans who travel abroad annually.
Brazil presents certain safety challenges for tourists, particularly when compared to South Korea. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, while South Korea is significantly safer at 45th. The murder rate in Brazil is notably higher, with 22.5 murders per 100,000 people, compared to South Korea's low rate of 0.5. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Brazil faces various crime issues, with higher indices in areas such as state crime (8.5) and arms trafficking (8.0), compared to South Korea's lower scores. While Brazil has vibrant tourist attractions, visitors should remain vigilant and informed about local safety conditions.
