Brazil offers a rich array of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Kenya's 54 million residents. Its diverse attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, highlight the country's strong tourism infrastructure.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Kenya. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, which is lower than Kenya's ranking of 120th. The murder rate in Brazil is significantly higher at 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Kenya's rate of 5.3. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Brazil faces challenges with organized crime, with higher indices in several categories, such as state crime (8.5 for Brazil versus 8.0 for Kenya) and drug trade (cocaine trade index of 9.0 for Brazil compared to 6.0 for Kenya). While Brazil is a popular tourist destination, visitors should remain vigilant and informed about local safety conditions.
