Brazil offers a vibrant cultural experience and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of Iraq's 44 million residents. Its diverse attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, contribute to its tourism appeal.
Brazil presents a mixed safety profile for tourists coming from Iraq. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, which is better than Iraq's ranking of 148th. However, Brazil has a higher murder rate at 22.5 per 100,000 people compared to Iraq's 10.1. In terms of organized crime, Brazil has a higher index for mafia groups (7.5) and state crime (8.5) than Iraq (6.5 and 8.0, respectively). However, Brazil scores better in foreign crime (3.5) and the heroin trade (2.0) compared to Iraq's scores of 9.0 and 6.0. Overall, while Brazil is statistically safer than Iraq, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions and potential risks.
