Brazil offers a rich blend of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Chinese travelers. With a well-developed tourism infrastructure that includes famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, it has the potential to attract a portion of the 20.3 million Chinese citizens who travel abroad annually.
Brazil's safety for tourists, including those from China, is a concern. The Global Peace Index ranks Brazil 129th out of 160 countries, indicating it is less safe than China, which ranks 87th. The murder rate in Brazil is significantly higher at 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to China's 0.5. In terms of organized crime, Brazil has higher indices in areas such as state crime (8.5) and arms trafficking (8.0) compared to China. While both countries face challenges with organized crime, Brazil's overall crime rates and safety rankings suggest that tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about their surroundings while visiting.
