Brazil offers a rich array of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some of the 28 million people in Côte d'Ivoire. Its diverse attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, highlight its strong tourism infrastructure.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, particularly when compared to Côte d'Ivoire. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, while Côte d'Ivoire is ranked 107th. In terms of crime statistics, Brazil has a murder rate of 22.5 per 100,000 people, with 3.5 female murders per 100,000, indicating a significant level of violence. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights Brazil's challenges, with higher scores indicating worse conditions in areas such as mafia presence (7.5), state crime (8.5), and drug trafficking (cocaine trade at 9.0). While Brazil offers beautiful destinations and rich culture, tourists should remain vigilant and informed about safety measures when traveling there.
