Brazil offers a diverse range of attractions, including vibrant cultures, stunning landscapes, iconic beaches, and the Amazon rainforest, making it an appealing destination for some Bahraini travelers. With around 500,000 Bahrainis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Brazil an interesting choice for their trips.
Brazil presents certain safety challenges for tourists, particularly when compared to Bahrain. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, while Bahrain is ranked 79th, indicating that Brazil is less safe. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Brazil is significantly higher, at 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Bahrain's 0.1. Additionally, female murder rates are also concerning, with Brazil at 3.5 compared to Bahrain's 0.2. The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights the disparity, with Brazil scoring poorly across various crime categories. For instance, mafia groups in Brazil score 7.5 (on a scale where 1 is best), while Bahrain scores 1.0. Other indices such as state crime (Brazil 8.5, Bahrain 4.0) and drug trade (cocaine: Brazil 9.0, Bahrain 4.0) also reflect higher risks in Brazil. Overall, while Brazil has many attractions, tourists from Bahrain should be aware of these safety concerns and take necessary precautions when visiting.
