Brazil offers a rich cultural experience and stunning natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Azerbaijani travelers. With around 1 million Azerbaijanis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Brazil's diverse attractions, such as its famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest, particularly enticing.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Azerbaijan. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Azerbaijan, which ranks 104th. Crime statistics reveal significant differences in murder rates: Azerbaijan has a murder rate of 1.9 per 100,000 people, while Brazil's rate is much higher at 22.5. This trend continues with female murder rates, where Azerbaijan has a rate of 1.3 compared to Brazil's 3.5. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights challenges in Brazil, with higher scores indicating more severe issues. For instance, Brazil scores 7.5 for mafia groups and 8.5 for state crime, compared to Azerbaijan's scores of 5.5 and 7.5, respectively. In summary, while Brazil offers rich cultural experiences, tourists should be aware of its higher crime rates and take necessary precautions.
