Brazil offers a rich array of vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for visitors from the United Arab Emirates. Its well-developed tourism infrastructure supports a variety of attractions, including famous beaches and the Amazon rainforest. With 6.3 million Emiratis traveling abroad annually, a segment of this population may find Brazil an intriguing option for their travels.
Brazil presents certain safety concerns for tourists, especially when compared to the United Arab Emirates. According to the Global Peace Index, Brazil ranks 129th out of 160 countries, while the UAE is significantly safer at 52nd place. Crime statistics further illustrate this disparity: Brazil has a murder rate of 22.5 per 100,000 people, compared to just 0.5 in the UAE. Additionally, the rates of female murders are 3.5 in Brazil versus 0.4 in the UAE. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights the differences in crime environments. Brazil scores poorly on various crime-related indices, such as mafia groups (7.5), crime networks (6.5), and state crime (8.5), while the UAE scores much better across these categories, with mafia groups at 1.0 and state crime at 6.0. In summary, while many tourists visit Brazil safely, it is important for travelers from the UAE to remain vigilant and informed about the local safety conditions.
