Benin is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Syria. According to the Global Peace Index, Benin ranks 112th out of 160 countries, while Syria ranks 153rd. The murder rate in Benin is 1.1 per 100,000 people, significantly lower than Syria's rate of 2.2. In terms of organized crime, Benin scores better on several indices.
