Benin offers a rich cultural experience and an evolving tourism infrastructure, making it increasingly appealing to international visitors. The country has seen a significant rise in tourist arrivals, suggesting it could attract a segment of Qatar's population of 3 million.
Benin's safety for tourists, including those from Qatar, is relatively moderate. According to the Global Peace Index, Benin ranks 112th out of 160 countries, which is significantly lower than Qatar's ranking of 29th. The murder rate in Benin is 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's very low rate of 0.3. In terms of organized crime, both countries score similarly on certain indices, but Benin faces higher risks in foreign crime (8.0) compared to Qatar (5.5). While Benin has some challenges related to crime, it is important for tourists to stay informed and take standard safety precautions while visiting.
