Bahrain offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern attractions, making it an appealing destination for some Turkish travelers. With 2.2 million international visitors annually, its vibrant markets and rich pearl diving heritage are noteworthy draws. Given that 2.7 million Turks travel abroad each year, a portion may be inclined to explore what Bahrain has to offer.
Bahrain is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Türkiye. While Türkiye ranks 31st out of 40 European countries regarding safety while walking alone at night, Bahrain holds a more favorable position, being ranked 79th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, compared to Türkiye's 137th ranking. In terms of crime statistics, Bahrain has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Türkiye's 2.5. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Bahrain at 0.2 and Türkiye at 1.0. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Bahrain has a lower risk of organized crime compared to Türkiye, with Bahrain scoring 1.0 for mafia groups versus Türkiye's 8.0. Overall, while no destination is without risk, Bahrain is statistically safer than Türkiye, making it a suitable choice for tourists.
