Its blend of history and modern attractions draws millions of visitors annually, making it a noteworthy option for a segment of Nigeria's 219 million population.
Belgium is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Nigeria. According to the Global Peace Index, Belgium ranks 16th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to Nigeria, which ranks 144th. However, Belgium ranks 39th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, suggesting some caution is advised in certain areas. In terms of crime statistics, Belgium has a significantly lower murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Nigeria's 22.0. Additionally, Belgium scores better on the Global Organized Crime Index across various categories, indicating lower levels of organized crime.
