Belgium offers a rich cultural heritage and modern attractions, making it an appealing destination for visitors from Liechtenstein. Its historical significance, stunning architecture, and vibrant cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Antwerp attract millions of tourists annually. This could resonate with a segment of Liechtenstein's population.
Belgium is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Liechtenstein. It ranks 39th out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, indicating some concerns in this area. However, it holds a more favorable position, ranked 16th globally in the Global Peace Index among 160 countries. In terms of crime statistics, Belgium has a lower murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people compared to Liechtenstein's 5.1. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that while Belgium faces challenges with crime networks and trafficking, Liechtenstein also has its own issues, albeit at a lower scale. Overall, while there are some safety concerns, Belgium remains a popular destination for tourists, and visitors should take standard precautions as they would in any country.
