Bangladesh boasts lush landscapes and a rich cultural heritage, making it an intriguing destination for some Vietnamese travelers. Although it currently ranks low in tourist arrivals, it is gradually attracting attention from those seeking authentic cultural experiences and natural beauty. A segment of Vietnam's 98 million population may find it appealing.
Bangladesh is generally considered less safe for tourists compared to Vietnam. According to the Global Peace Index, Bangladesh ranks 91st out of 160 countries, while Vietnam is ranked 41st. The murder rate in Bangladesh is 2.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Vietnam's lower rate of 1.5. In terms of organized crime, both countries have similar scores, but Bangladesh has higher concerns in areas such as human trafficking (8.0) compared to Vietnam (6.5). Other crime indices show that while both countries face challenges, Vietnam generally has better scores in various crime categories. Overall, while many tourists visit Bangladesh without incident, it is advisable for travelers from Vietnam to exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions.
