Bangladesh, with its lush landscapes and diverse cultures, presents an intriguing option for some Sudanese travelers. While it currently attracts fewer tourists overall, it is gradually gaining recognition for its authentic cultural experiences and natural beauty. This evolving tourism profile may appeal to a segment of Sudan's 47 million population.
Bangladesh is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Sudan. According to the Global Peace Index, Bangladesh ranks 91st out of 160 countries, while Sudan is much lower at 159th. In terms of murder rates, Bangladesh has a rate of 2.4 per 100,000 people, significantly lower than Sudan's rate of 5.1. Additionally, when looking at organized crime indices, Bangladesh scores better in several areas. For instance, the mafia groups and crime networks in Bangladesh have a score of 5.5, compared to Sudan's 6.5 and 7.5, respectively. Although both countries face challenges with human trafficking, their scores are the same at 8.0. Overall, while no destination is without risks, Bangladesh presents a relatively safer environment for tourists coming from Sudan.
