Bangladesh presents an intriguing option for Dutch travelers, featuring lush landscapes and a diverse cultural heritage. While it currently attracts fewer tourists overall, it is gradually gaining recognition on the global stage. With 22.1 million Dutch citizens traveling abroad annually, a segment of this population may find the authentic experiences and natural beauty of Bangladesh appealing.
Bangladesh presents certain safety concerns for tourists from the Netherlands. While the Netherlands ranks 18th in the Global Peace Index and has a low murder rate of 0.7 per 100,000 people, Bangladesh is ranked 91st and has a higher murder rate of 2.4. Additionally, crime indices indicate that Bangladesh faces challenges with organized crime, human trafficking, and state crime, scoring higher in these areas compared to the Netherlands. Travelers should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions when visiting Bangladesh, as it may not be as safe as their home country.
