Azerbaijan presents a compelling destination for a segment of Serbia's 7 million population, featuring a diverse array of tourism experiences rooted in its rich cultural heritage and varied landscapes. Although its tourism numbers have fluctuated recently, the country's strategic significance in the tourism sector is on the rise, making it increasingly appealing to visitors from Serbia.
Azerbaijan's safety for tourists from Serbia may be considered moderate. While Serbia ranks 53rd in the Global Peace Index, Azerbaijan is lower at 104th. The murder rate in Azerbaijan is higher at 1.9 per 100,000 people compared to Serbia's 1.1. Additionally, crime statistics indicate that while both countries face organized crime, Azerbaijan has a slightly better score in some areas, such as human smuggling and arms trafficking, but still presents risks. Tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions while traveling in Azerbaijan.
