Australia is an appealing destination for some Russian visitors due to its breathtaking landscapes and diverse tourism offerings. With 12.4 million Russians traveling internationally each year, a portion may be inclined to explore Australia's unique experiences and vibrant cities.
Australia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Russia. According to the Global Peace Index, Australia ranks 19th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety, while Russia ranks significantly lower at 154th. In terms of crime statistics, Australia's murder rate is notably low at 0.7 per 100,000 people, compared to Russia's rate of 6.8. Additionally, various organized crime indices suggest that Australia has a lower prevalence of serious crime, with lower scores in areas such as human trafficking and state crime. Overall, while no specific data exists for safety while walking alone at night in Australia, the available statistics suggest that Australia is a much safer environment for tourists compared to Russia.
