Australia is an appealing destination for some of Serbia's 7 million residents, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes and diverse tourism experiences. The country's combination of natural beauty and lively urban areas attracts millions of visitors seeking unique adventures.
Australia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Serbia. According to the Global Peace Index, Australia ranks 19th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety. In comparison, Serbia ranks 53rd. Crime statistics further support this view; Australia's murder rate is lower at 0.7 per 100,000 people compared to Serbia's 1.1. Additionally, Australia performs better in various organized crime indices, particularly in areas like state crime and human trafficking. While Serbia ranks relatively high in safety when walking alone at night (13th among 40 European countries), the overall crime and safety environment in Australia is more favorable for tourists. Therefore, visitors from Serbia can feel confident about their safety while traveling in Australia.
