Australia is an appealing destination for some of the 28 million people in Cameroon, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes and diverse tourism experiences. The country's combination of natural wonders and lively cities attracts millions of visitors seeking unique adventures.
Australia is considered one of the safest countries for tourists, ranking 19th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Cameroon, which ranks 135th. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Australia's murder rate is notably lower at 0.7 per 100,000 people compared to Cameroon's 4.5. Crime indices from the Global Organized Crime Index further illustrate this safety difference. For instance, while both countries face organized crime, Australia's scores are generally better, with lower indices in areas such as state crime (Australia: 2.0, Cameroon: 8.0) and human trafficking (Australia: 3.5, Cameroon: 6.5). Overall, tourists from Cameroon can feel relatively safe when visiting Australia, given its lower crime rates and higher safety rankings.
