Australia is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Switzerland. According to the Global Peace Index, Australia ranks 19th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety, though it is slightly less safe than Switzerland, which ranks 6th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Australia is 0.7 per 100,000 people, compared to Switzerland's lower rate of 0.5.
