Armenia is an appealing destination for some Ukrainian travelers due to its rich history, natural beauty, and vibrant culture. With 11 million Ukrainians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Armenia's ancient monasteries and rugged landscapes particularly attractive.
Armenia is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ukraine. According to the Global Peace Index, Armenia ranks 74th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Ukraine, which ranks 156th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Armenia is 2.2 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's rate of 3.8. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Armenia has lower scores across various crime categories, suggesting a lesser prevalence of organized crime compared to Ukraine. For example, Armenia scores 3.0 for mafia groups and 2.0 for human smuggling, while Ukraine scores 6.0 and 6.5, respectively. Overall, while no destination is entirely free of risk, Armenia presents a safer environment for tourists compared to Ukraine.
